Sister Julie Lowe

Bio Details

Sr. Julie has ijazah in asharah sughra (10 recitations of the Qur'an) from Sh. Uthman Khan.  She has been teaching tajweed theory and recitation for the past two years, and taught at the Islamic Institute of Toronto before moving to the UK.  She is currently completing her Master's degree in London.

She has also completed the memorisation of the entire Qur’an. Sr. Julie has experience teaching beginner and intermediate level tajweed students, and has previously taught at Shatibiyyah Institute.

Sr. Julie holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo and a degree in law from Queen’s University. In addition to studying and teaching tajweed and qira’at, she is actively involved in AlMaghrib Institute as a student and volunteer. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, catching up on reading, and travelling.
